The new 13-inch MacBook Pro has just been updated on April 13th 2010. There are some upgrades and a few changes between this year and last years model;
1) Has 4 gb of ram standard (2 x 2 gb sticks). You can do multi-task easily without any issues (model had only 2gb of ram last years which was inadequate). Now there's no need to spend more money upgrading your ram UNLESS you're really into heavy duty multimedia work.
2) Also features the Nvidia GeForce 320M integrated graphics processor with 48 processing cores will help in graphics and content creation. Last years Model had only Geforce 9400M graphics chip.
3) Included 250 gb hard drive. 160gb in last years model.
4) Mini display port now supports video AND sound with a compatible Mini-DP to HDMI adapter. Last years model only supported video.
As with previous models, the new MacBook Pro features a precision unibody enclosure crafted from a single block of aluminum, creating a thin and light mobile computing workhorse (less than 1 inch thin and just 4.5 pounds) that's also highly durable. And it includes a 13.3-inch, LED-backlit glass display as well as a glass trackpad that doesn't include a button (for larger tracking area) that features Apple's Multi-Touch technology. Other features include integrated Wireless-N Wi-Fi networking, Bluetooth connectivity, an SD card slot, and two USB 2.0 ports. It also comes with the Mac OS X Snow Leopard operating system as well as the iLife software suite, which includes the latest versions of iPhoto, iMovie, and GarageBand.
For those who are confused about whether they should purchase the $1199 MBP 13 or the $1499 MBP 13 - the only difference between this model and the higher priced model is processor speed and hard drive space - the $1199 MBP 13 has a 2.4 ghz processor and 250 gb hard drive and the $1499 MBP 13 has a 2.66ghz processor and 320 gb hard drive.
